Exclusive interview: New Dance Music Friday featuring Quintino

Feb 24, 2017

We proudly present the New Dance Music Friday feature, your weekly update on all newly released dance tracks, brought together on one amazing Spotify playlist. Featured this week (among many others): Quintino!  He's releasing his new single ‘Carnival’ today,  and provides the list with some musical tips, and tells all about it in this exclusive interview.

Hey Quintino, you just released your new track 'Carnival'. How did you create this?
"I wanted a record full of drums and decided to check on stuff I liked. I worked with Brazilian musicians to create the best rhythm and 'Carnival' is the result."

What does this record say about your musical evolution as an artist?
"It says that no matter what, I just try to make the music I like. I try not to be a follower and not be scared to create something new."

The track is featured on Spinnin’s New Dance Music Friday playlist. How important is Spotify to you?
"Last year we got over 17 million streams for 'Can't Fight It' and over 21 million streams for 'Freak', so Spotify is really important. For me it's the new music channel where people check out music and most importantly discover new music, also because Spotify uses vibes and playlists. It helped me a lot and I am happy we are doing so well on Spotify!"

Which tracks released this week should definitely be added to New Dance Music Friday?

"Difficult because there is too much good stuff out there. But here are a few I like to listen too:

Galantis - 'Rich boys'
San Holo - 'Light' (Grant remix)
Flume - 'Enough' ft Pusha T "
