Exclusive interview: New Dance Music Friday featuring Fedde le Grand

May 5, 2017

We proudly present the New Dance Music Friday feature, your weekly update on all newly released dance tracks, brought together on one amazing Spotify playlist. Featured this week (among many others): Fedde le Grand! He released his new single ‘Love's Gonna Get You’ together with D.O.D this week, and provides the list with some musical tips, and tell all about it in this exclusive interview.

Hey, you just released your new track ‘Love's Gonna Get You’. How did you create this?
"
Well it was actually D.O.D who sent me this rough idea to pitch for a collab. I didn’t feel it a 100% yet but I immediately knew there was something there. It took quite a few hours in the studio trying to make it work when I just stumbled onto this idea and everything just fell together for me. From there on it was a bit of back and forth between me and D.O.D…and here’s the end-result!"

What does this record say about your musical evolution as an artist?
"
I’m not too sure to be honest. I’m always going and every moment I can I’m in the studio creating something. I think it’s a difficult thing to see yourself, for me developing and growing is just a non-stop thing. Not creating something different each time would basically just get boring. To me it’s just a natural and organic process. For this specific record it was all about the dancefloor and creating something that would work in each vibe and at each play, and it really does just that, whether it’s a festival or a small intimate club, 'Love’s Gonna Get You' works magic each time!!"

The track is featured on Spinnin’s New Dance Music Friday playlist. How important is Spotify to you?
"I think it’s super important. In this world where distances continously diminish, Spotify is yet another step in getting your music out there to your fans at any minute they want to enjoy it. I think it’s an absolute great tool to find and explore new music and think it’s already indispensable to be honest.."
