Exclusive interview: New Dance Music Friday featuring Nora En Pure

Jun 23, 2017

We proudly present the New Dance Music Friday feature, your weekly update on all newly released dance tracks, brought together on one amazing Spotify playlist. Featured this week (among many others): Nora En Pure! She released her new single ‘Tears In Your Eyes’ this week, and provides the list with some musical tips, and tells all about it in this exclusive interview.

Hey, you just released your new track ‘Tears In Your Eyes’. How did you create this?
"
The production of this track happened over three years. I laid the first ideas and beats in 2014, but I put it aside due to other ideas I had to finish. I have always been in love with the classical instruments in electronic music. The first bounce had already the virtuous melody and I really loved it, but wasn't sure if it was maybe too much.

Every now and then I listened to the loop again and worked a bit further on it and only played it to crowds that I felt were there for my sound and noticed wherever I played it people were pretty amazed by it. Then it also took some time to find the right vocal, so there were some different arrangements and vocal versions that I played at times.

In cooperation with some vocalists from Spinnin records, who also loved the basic idea, we worked out a vocal topline and finished the production.

This is definitely the track that took me the most time to finish. But it turned out to be an amazing piece of music. It really touches me, makes me feel euphoric and nostalgic at the same time."

What does this record say about your musical evolution as an artist?
"As it is a piece of music that was built up across three years, you can hear many stages of productions I went through. Some sounds I maybe wouldn't pick the exact same nowadays anymore for a current production, but they fit right in here and make this track a unique gem and also show my musical evolution over the last three years."

The track is featured on Spinnin’s New Dance Music Friday playlist. How important is Spotify to you?
"Very important. I'm thrilled for the solid following and listening numbers and very grateful for all the support I get and of course I'm very happy to be part of the Spinnin’ family!"
