Exclusive interview: New Dance Music Friday featuring Alok

Hey, you just released the 5-track EP 'Alok Presents Brazilian Bass', featuring various artists. How did you create this?
"The idea and concept of the EP came about after I realized how much potential was happening around me with the guys who I have proudly been working with. The results couldn’t be better and the EP is just mind blowing.  Sander Van Doorn is a living legend within the electronic music scene.  It's an honor to have him on board the EP and a bigger honor to have him joining us inside the Brazilian Bass movement."

What does this record say about your musical evolution as an artist?
"This record shows not only myself in a change but the whole group of artists who are also featured on the EP. Needless to say that we are all working really hard to keep the levels and ideas up these days. It is priceless to inspire and get inspired by talented producers and music lovers who look up to our work and praise our consolidated tracks." 

The EP is featured on Spinnin’s New Dance Music Friday playlist. How important is Spotify to you?
"Spotify is without a doubt a breakthrough tool and commodity that we are lucky enough to experience and enjoy in our days. The resourceful and massive database contains virtually everything and you can find music any time at just a click away. Besides using the app the whole time I also love being part of its history and ranks."
