Featured this week (among many others): Junior J! He's releasing his new single 'Back In Your Heart' today, and talks about the creation of it in this exclusive interview.
Hey, you are releasing your new single 'Back In Your Heart‘ today. How did you create this?
"I actually started this record almost two years ago, it initially started off as bit of fun with the original Jackson 5 acapella. I then put it aside for a while before deciding to finish it off as a solo single once I got the feedback from Spinnin'. I'm really happy with how it turned out and I feel that Spinnin' is the perfect label for it."
What does this record say about your musical evolution as an artist?
"It definitely sums up my sound, everything about this is a typical Junior J sound. Big vocals and feel good melodies is my aim on most of my records, so I felt this one turned out just perfect. I had so much fun working with the acapella, Jackson 5 are one of my favourite groups of all time, so to be releasing a single on Spinnin' sampling one of their vocals is a special moment for me."
The track is featured on Spinnin’s New Dance Music Friday playlist. How important is streaming to you?
"Streaming is vitally important nowadays, my management and I tend to focus on streaming as much as we can. Especially on platforms such as Spotify, I try and focus a lot to grow as an artist on streaming platforms like this. Over the past couple of years I have had over 10 million streams online, I’m super thankful for that but I hope to do many more this year."
